"Indisputably the best specialist with which to travel to the sub-continent, Greaves India is a good first point of call. They know all the properties, will assess the sort of person you are and match you to an itinerary you will like. This is a specialised service above and beyond any other current operator, from the moment you land in India and a Greaves representative meets you at the door of the aeroplane.”

Michael Salmon, UK, March 2008
We returned from our holiday in India and I have taken the earliest opportunity to let you know how much we enjoyed it and to thank you for arranging it so efficiently. We are both full of admiration for the Greaves Travel organisation in India. We have never been looked after so well by any other travel agent. The moment we stepped off the plane at Delhi someone from Greaves was there to take care of ourselves and our luggage. All through the trip Greaves gave us the same care. Daniel Dexter at Delhi was particularly helpful in seeing that we avoided long queues for airport procedures. On our return journey he even arranged for us to go through what seemed like a private immigration department for the sake of speed and comfort. The same high standard of care was shown by your representatives everywhere we went.
You may remember that I was most concerned at taking a flight from Udaipur to Jaipur at 0740 not only because of the early start but because I was fearful that on arrival at the hotel at Jaipur we would not be able to get our hotel room until the normal check in time of 12 noon. When I talked to you about this, you thought that it might prove possible for us to get our room on our arrival at around 9am but you could not promise this. In fact thanks to Greaves the hotel let us go straight to our room on our arrival.
We were enormously impressed with the Oberoi Hotels where we stayed. Although they are rated 5 star hotels, we gave them a rating of 6 stars! They were run most efficiently and you correctly described them as properties rather than as hotels. At Agra we were delighted to have a room from which the Taj Mahal could be seen from our bed.
Finally no praise could be high enough for Mr S.C.Joshi who drove us most capably through more than half our holiday.
Jill joins me in sending you our best wishes and renewed thanks for all your help.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Salmon |

Having caught up with the sleep and with three weeks' post and
messages, I feel I should write to say how much we enjoyed the holiday
which you so efficiently arranged for us, and to thank you again for
all your efforts.
Everything went off faultlessly, which is very rare, and we
can find nothing whatever to criticise in your arrangements or those of
your admirable local agents. Everywhere we went we were met as arranged
and very well looked after, and every detail of our programme happened
exactly as booked and listed. I should particularly like to commend
their charming man Sam in Cochin, and all three of our drivers, who
were always smart, polite and interesting, and drove safely and well. I
was certainly glad not to be driving myself in that chaotic traffic!
There were also two especially good guides - Mr. Prasad at Seringapatam
and Mysore and Kabir in Cochin, both very erudite, pleasant and with
excellent English.
The highlights of the tour were the Taj Malabar at Cochin,
which I knew, and two places we should not have known of without the
Greaves brochure : the Tranquil at Sultan Battery, which certainly
lived up to its name and was superbly run by a most charming family,
the Deys, and where we'd have stayed longer had we known how good it
is; and the Bangaram Island resort, a very different experience, not
nearly as Robinson Crusoeish as we'd expected, and with astonishingly
good food considering it almost all has to come from the mainland. The
only drawback there was the tiresome journey - Agatti airport, is not
to be recommended, and we had to wait there far too long. The only
lodgings we should not want to return to were the Metropole at Mysore -
very noisy main road right outside our window and not much of a welcome
- and Ayisha Manzil at Tellicherry - owners very friendly, but
accommodation primitive, and food disappointing considering they run a
cookery school.
I much enjoyed seeing again places I knew, and some new
ones, and my wife, who had not been to India before, was very glad I'd
persuaded her and had a thoroughly good time too.
Again our thanks for your admirable planning. If we ever go
to India again we shall certainly call upon you. Do Greaves do holidays
in other countries?

Thanks
for your expert help. I'm always comparing other agents to you, and
none of them have come close to the level of professionalism and
efficiency you provide. Well done!

From
our first contact with you to saying good bye to your representative in
Delhi airport on our way home the service provided was nothing less
than excellent. We have not ceased selling your services to our friends
since we returned home. As I said to my wife, dealing with Greaves
illustrates how customer service should be handled. Once again sincere
thanks.

Thank
you so much for organising such a wonderful honeymoon for us. From
beginning to end it was perfect, in fact it became a joke between us
that we used the word “perfect” so often when we checked the itinerary
for what was coming up next! I know you won’t admit it, but thank you
for going to the extra special effort and getting all the hotels to
make such a fuss of us, it was really wonderful. It was the holiday of
a lifetime.

We
just wanted to say what a fantastic trip we had and how we just enjoyed
every minute of our three weeks in India. All the Greaves
representatives, guides and drivers were fabulous and welcoming. And
not forgetting to thank you for having sorted it all out for us.
Thank you so much, we hope we will be able to do it again -we have
certainly been recommending you to all our friends some of whom have
been inspired to visit as well.

What
more can I say but thank you so much from all of us. Our choice of
Greaves was our inspiration; you and your colleagues took it from
there.

Totally
made me appreciate the experience a travel agent can give on a trip to
a very foreign place – so much more comforting and stress free than
booking on the Internet yourself. Any issues swiftly dealt with.

Thank
you for the superb tour which you organised for my wife and myself in
Delhi/Udaipur/Jaipur/Agra. The hotels used were excellent, The Rambagh
Palace in Jaipur, was outstanding. The guides provided were universally
knowledgeable and sensitive to the traveller’s interests. The range of
attractions visited was well chosen, although we were not able to visit
the government areas of New Delhi due to restrictions following
Republic Day.
We enjoyed
an absolutely splendid trip, well organised and well executed. We offer
our thanks to yourselves and to your colleagues and associates in India
who were quite splendid.
